The update invitation comes with the ambiguous message 'Do not notify me about this update', with an associated tick box. However that hasn't stopped the requests to update being downloaded whenever I'm online. My reaction to the update request was to use the Control Panel to uninstall the unwanted Magic Desktop program (it was there). It's something I've never used but was apparently preinstalled by HP I either missed it when I removed most of the crapware or it is lying to me when it says HP had preloaded it. Just recently I've been getting requests to update Magic Desktop. Right click on your shortcut and change it's properties.I've had a HP Pavilion DM1 netbook running Windows 7 since Christmas 2011, and on the whole have been happy with it for lightweight computing jobs.
